Zach Bollheimer

Founder & Lead Ecologist

in 2008, a german boy from rural western Ohio moved to rural Appalachian Athens, Ohio to get educated.

From Fort Loramie, OH, he graduated with a B.S. Environmental Geography from Ohio University in 2012.

Understanding environmental geography as the relationship between humans and the environment, he has sought a work-life that reflects this, paying attention to the intersectionality of all of the components of an ecosystem and humanity’s impact on the environment.

He has a broad spectrum of work experience, with a career full of titles spanning from invasive species management crew leader and environmental consultant to commercial landscaper, county stormwater manager, and preserve land manager.

He has conducted and assisted with a variety of ecological science projects across the country including:

  • wetland and stream restorations

  • rain garden design and installations
